You People Make Me Cry…(in a good way)

Here is a quick update as to what has been happening over the past few weeks. Since we blogged about our finances, you have been amazing, and by God’s grace and we have enough money to move forward yet again. We have received this question many times, and want to say that we have never been restricted from moving on because of money. This process has been amazing, truly a miracle.

Thank you Maddi!

Christmas brought Baby Elliott (or Elliott Babies) many presents! We received a picture from our dear friend Maddi, a beautiful book from friends, and blankets, stuffed animals, and children’s books from excited family members.

Our prayer is that next Christmas they will be here to open the presents themselves.

So thank you all who have prayed and donated. From the people who saw my silly cat video and felt lead to give, to family, dear friends, strangers, and everyone in between that has donated, thank you. We get teary when we think about your generosity. Words will never be enough, but thank you!

Right now we have a big payment which we can/will make either today or tomorrow! $6,075. For those fluent in adoption lingo, we are submitting our dossier. Then we will begin working on Immigration and making another large payment. Finally, it will be the waiting period. This could be a few months, or over a year (Pray for a few months). Then we will need to pay something in the order of $7,000 after we get referred a child (AKA, meet our child/ren). Shortly after the referral we will embark on our 2 month trip to Uganda. This will be the most expensive part, something to the order of $8,000-$12,000.

All in all we still need to raise about $10,000-$13,000 dollars (We are planning a fundraiser in the near future…details to come.) But by God’s grace, and your goodness, we are almost there! Everything counts, from the 25 dollars to the 1,500 dollars, every penny is a mile, a step toward Baby Elliott (or Elliott Babies)!

An added plus, the adoption tax credit was extended permanently (the government did something right) so that is good…no great!

More soon to come!

In Him,

JC and Leslie Elliott
